What People's Say About Place

Let’s remain entirely objective about Agave. There is no need for emotional exaggeration; here are the documented facts of this establishment. **Fact 1: The Taco Regime.** They operate under a rigid, militaristic policy regarding taco distribution. The menu clearly states in aggressive red font: "NO MIX AND MATCH." Do not arrive expecting a whimsical tasting flight of varying meats. You will select one of the fourteen options, you will receive four identical soft corn tortillas, and you will live with the consequences of your choice. **Fact 2: The Moisture Tariff.** Additional structural moisture costs exactly $3.00. If you wish to make your $14 Burrito Fajita "wet" with green sauce, red sauce, or cheese dip, you must pay the hydration fee. It is a straightforward financial transaction: you provide three dollars, and your food becomes wet. **Fact 3: The Walnut Cream Incident.** There is an $18 item called Chile en Nogada. It involves a roasted poblano pepper stuffed with ground beef, pork, apples, raisins, and pecans, which is then covered in a walnut cream sauce and pomegranate seeds. I am not passing judgment; I am simply reporting the physical reality of what they are assembling in their kitchen. Consume at your own risk. **Fact 4: Operating Hours.** They are closed on Sundays. If you show up on the Lord's day expecting a $46 pitcher of prickly pear cactus margarita, you will simply be staring at a locked door in a St. Pete Beach parking lot. The transaction was completed exactly as the laminated menu dictated. No more, no less.

Loved this spot! Casual & good! Staff is knowledgeable, courteous, down to earth. Great margaritas. And -- it's not on menu, but if you ask for a burrito 'wet' it will be slathered in delicious sauce. Prices were great, too! (Burritos are on menu, lol. Just not the wet option!)

Agave Restaurant is great for any sized group, whether you are alone, on a date, with family or a large group. If you are looking for suggestions I would recommend the chili relleno or enchiladas As for drinks, there house margarita is worth a try.

I’ve been coming to this Mexican restaurant for over 20 years, and it’s still my absolute favorite. The food is consistently fantastic — the tacos are incredible, and the barbacoa tacos in particular are out of this world. The service is always friendly and attentive, and the location is beautiful. After two decades of meals here, I can honestly say I can’t recommend it highly enough.

We were seated right away and the place was packed. We had to wait a long time for anyone to come to our table for drink order and to order food. Food was pretty good. Our waitress was sweet once she was able to get to us. Food came out really fast.

We walked by this restaurant on our first night in the area and we decided to come here on the second night. We arrived around 5:30 pm and walked right in. But the king started to form right behind us. The drinks were delicious. Wife got the enchilada and daughter got the fish taco. Both said they were good. I wanted steak and shrimp so I’d ordered the fajitas combo with steak and shrimp for $28. Expecting lots of meat and Shrimp but what came out was lots of onions and veggies I was still hungry so had to order the dessert to fill up. The churros were good but better if you order the ice scream. Service was good for a busy restaurant. Keep your eyes out for the added tip within the receipt.
